Braved ToysRus for stuffed pigs, available no where else, and scored. There were many, I put some back.

YAY!

I am NOT going to miss BJJ today. I know today is Thursday. I know what time it starts. I have my bag already in the what could possible go wrong.

I picked up the last thing for my brother-wife. I picked up the last thing for Emily. I picked up the last thing for Mr husband-man-o-mine. Finalcut999 gift was done last week.

Tomorrow I start making granola like mad! mad I say! Bwhahahahaha!

Tonight I am the date for an office Christmas party. It should be an interesting first date.

So I am at CISCO, since 7:00am. Cleaning off the car stupid early in the morning sucks. Just FYI.

There have been a total of 4 people in the gym today, and 2 additional employees. Woo I am so busy.

I cut myself off of coffee when I realised I was just getting myself cups because I was bored. Not a good reason to drink coffee AND I can feel my pulse in my forearms.

I am catching up on

• my news (CNN reported that President Bush's White-house emails--millions--have been found),
• advertising (pro-made in China was a bit of a surprise) and
• my CSI (four episodes and counting).

I could have gone to spin class but

• looks too hard and
• don't have sneakers

Lydia is going through a Polly Pocket phase. We dug out her old stuff, some of the rubber was quite stiff and tore. I claimed all the Disney 'Princess' and we argued about whether or not a few of them were realy princesses or if they were just monied or dating princes. We agreed that Jasmine wasn't a princess but she probably was the richest of them. It made order of presidence harder but not impossible, especially after Lydia rearranged them.

My order of presidence for Disney Princesses

• Aurora, aka sleeping Beauty. Sole heir, marring the sole Heir of a neighbouring Kingdom.
• Snow White, un-ackknowledged bastard of a King, marring an Heir to a Kingdom, or a King, depending upon the tale
• Ariel, daughter of a King but of an unrecognized Kingdom, marrying Heir to a Kingdom.
• Cinderella, uninherated daughter of a possible Duke, marrying an Heir to a Kingdom
• Belle, daughter of a mad scientist, marrying a Duke?
• Jasmine, daughter of a Sultan--may or may not be considered a King--but married a commoner.
• Moulan would be last, a soldier marrying a soldier, but we didn't have that Polly Pocket

We are back, safe and sound, from FLA.

A good time was had, pink princess ears of various types purchased for the girls, parameters for overstimulation were determined, and generally many things learned.

More to follow as I have the time and inclination.

At the moment, there is a brief panic over not having started my Christmas shopping.

And frustration at not being able to find ammonium carbonate for my gingerbread house.


Grrrrrr......

This is enough of a Dutch area, I'd think something so inherently necessary for Northern European baked goods would be available at least at specialty stores. So far, no dice.

Must stop off tonight to get the rest of my White Elephant gift for the work party tomorrow.

In the land of strange things I learned about our contractor's assistant today: he was the voice of the Tibble twins on the children's show Author.

Broke. My. Brain.

Lydia is crabby. Don't know why.

I worked at CISCO. Now I am pooped.

I have the house to myself. *happy sigh* I know technically I have it to myself during the week but I share it with my to-do lists and the ghosts of half-finished jobs (and construction workers).

My plan for the evening is to go to late night Walmart with Shyska, once we tuck the rest of the house into bed.

I shovelled the drive-way. Its not to bad out there.

I work to cover a shift at CISCO Gym tomorrow. YAY! I must bring a god book. No A&S project to work on all day this time.

Edit: Planned everything for the potluck and then looked outside. I can't drive that far with Lydia on a school night in the snow. Not a good idea.

MMA fights was a learning experience.

I was confused by some of it...like why didn't that guy elbow that other guy in the face!? He had inches! ANd how did that guy choke out the other guy, with his legs, from a hand stand? How many of these guys used to fight before MMA was mainstream and legal? What do the refs look for? What do they smear on the eyebrows? Why don't the guys shrimp properly? Why didn't that guy use a alan-key lock? What are they hoping for when they fall down on top of someone?

I was impressed that a lot of the basics I've been learning in class is what will take out the opponent. Its like...keep it simple. Don't tense. One guy had the upper hand and then didn't do the move correctly and lost it, and the whole match. No, not one guy, a lot of the looses were due to trying a technique improperly, its the first mistake is the last one at this level I guess.

Just got back from my first live MMA event. It was interesting. As with any event in ottawa the crowd was pretty sedate. It's possible that they were more lively before the fights started. It was fun how some of the fighters came in with entourage. The guys from cortejo's club even had an animal mascot. My Kickboxing teacher fought in the Co-Main event and unfortunately the ref called him out before he tapped. He was very unimpressed. Still, I thought his moves were great. He had this fantastic way of slipping from a hit that I want to learn.

Anyway, I'm home and craving salty snacks and drinking white wine.

Since most of the other days are filled up, it's going to be on Friday, the First of January.
Since many of you will be recovering from NYE, we're going to help by making this an oyster party. Raw oysters.
Since you all will be sleeping late, this hangover breakfast will start late afternoon.
Since we will be providing Oysters, Vodka, Lemon Juice, if you want to bring something, bring something to go on or with the oysters.
Since some of you might find this the most disgusting thing ever, we will be providing some other food.
Since it's my birthday and you might want to give me something (which you don't have to) I'd like the same thing I want every year: a picture of you that you like.
Crash space will be available, but it might be a little unfinished...

I had a 2+ hour nap this afternoon. *surprise* This day is getting away from me.

Aside from the nap I cleaned Lydia's room, and the kitchen, and the TV room. Giovanni did loads and loads of laundry and other stuff. Lydia helped us against her will. She's set up in her new desk in her room, for the win. (thank you buttongirl)

Tonight I go to Wreck MMA (http://wreckmma.com/) with J-v-lynch. A teacher from my club and a teacher from Lynch's are fighting. Apparently Lynch is a traitor for going to a different club...ah testosterone. Looking at the web site seems to show a a whole whack of OAMA guys. I wonder how many I will recognize? I'm excited for my date. I am trying to decide if I am going to look pretty, or tough, or pretty tough. I will NOT wear my Mixed Martial Arts and Crafts shirt, it might be considered...antagonistic.

Lynch and Lydia are spending quality time playing video games. Its very cute. Thank you green_ogre)
